John Lowerson

A Selection of the most recent paintings by John Lowerson These images are of watercolours painted on 140 lb paper and are all around 42 cm x 28 cm. The theme, though not exclusive, leans towards a nostalgia, a memory if you like of the sort of stuff we used to see in an everyday setting. They do not attempt to paint the exclusive or the exotic, rather the relative mundane landscapes and imagery of Britain then and now. There is an element of romanticism depicted, but then most visual art has these traits to some extent, weather romancing the materials used in non representational through to abstracted work, still life and portraiture. Experience in 3 dimensional artworks in a variety of materials, concerns with art for specific spaces, furniture design and making, John also builds kayaks for recreation. The painting will come to you signed and packaged appropriately flat and protected. They are unframed and in their raw state with original stretcher tape attached at the border where it has been removed from the board. Framing is possible if specified after purchase, though this will naturally impact on postal costs.
