Dawnie Thompson

I was born and raised in London. Also spent much time travelling and living abroad. As a self taught artist, I lived in the rural countryside of Austria for five years, experiencing the land of lush forests and its inhabitants, working within a creative bespoke decor design company. I decided to move back to the U.K and indulge into some beautiful East Sussex coastal scenery, living by the seaside, inspired by its ever changing landscape, natural movement and creations of all things in it. In 2017 the first murmuration was created inspired by a childhood memory of creating birds, v's and w's were drawn using black ink. A fusion of freedom, observation and experimenting. Uniquely I superimpose murmurations of starlings that are drawn in fine liner over my photography.
