copper bowl, decorated with enamels

Small copper bowl, decorated with enamel.  This process is unusual, since most enamellists work on a flat surface.  My pieces are often high-fired, many layers of enamel being applied in a series of firings in the kiln.  Enamel is glass – sometimes I use transparent enamels so that the colour of the copper – and other enamel – shows through, sometimes I use opaque enamels for beautiful effects.  No two pieces are the same.  This particular bowl has transparent enamel on the inside – it would look absolutely STUNNING when used with a tealight inside because it glows as if lit from within even in normal daylight – and the outside has been high-fired, the enamel flowing down the bowl’s outside to create a breathtakingly beautiful green/white exterior, the enamel flowing into lines which have been carved freehand into the enamel surface.
