Ferryside on the River Fowey in Bodinnick, Cornwall was bought by the du Maurier family in 1926. It was here that the author Daphne du Maurier wrote her first novel The Loving Spirit although she is probably best known for her novel Rebecca.
This painting is the view looking across the river and was inspired by photographs that I had taken whilst out kayaking on a glorious summer’s day. On the left hand side is Bodinnick where the ferry docks from Fowey – a short trip but very picturesque.
This high quality giclee print is mounted and will fit a ready made frame.
