Four Boats at the Harbour Wall

This is an  collograph print made from one of my collographs. Boats, harbours and ropes all provide strong visual images which inspire me.

A collograph is made from a plate which has a collage of different materials firmly glued to the block of card or wood. Materials used as collage can include different textured papers, wallpaper, string, string mesh, corrugated card, fabric, tissue paper, sandpaper scrim, muslin, sculpted p.v.a glue, cereal cartons, and seeds such as rice.

I like the 3D effect of the collograph itself . This collograph was inked and wiped and used severl times to make collograph prints before being mounted as an art work in itself.

Original seascape print

This piece is mounted on a grey 4.5 cm wide and 4 cm deep wood frame.
