“HEBE” GODDESS OF YOUTH

In Greek mythology Hebe was the daughter of Zeus and Hera. Her initial duties were to serve nectar and ambrosia to the Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus. She later married Heracles and legend has it that she had the power to make elderly people young again. My painting is therefore a celebration of the concept of eternal youth. I have tried to capture her classic beauty as well as the depth of power and compassion in her eyes.
