Mixing illustration with original photography is nothing new, neither is the merging of digital media. However nowadays technology allows for immediate and direct contact with the medium, allowing for a more expressionist approach in the digital world. I work with American artist, Kathryn Risley, based in Houston, using Skype and screen sharing. The images retain the original crispness and high resolution you would expect in top quality photography, merged in with Kathryn's free flowing style. Her work does more than merely enhance the photographs, and the fusion of our skills adds intrigue and creates images that have a fresh life of their own.
