Sennen Harbour

Sennen is a small coastal village in Cornwall situated 13km west/southwest of Penzance. It has an amazing beach called Whitesands Bay where you can sometimes see dolphins playing amongst the surfers! Its harbour supports a small fleet of commercial fishing boats and is home to a fleet of small pleasure-fishing boats. There is an electric winch to haul the boats across the beach and onto the slipway.

In this artwork, Shirley has painted the 3 boats which were on the on the slipway that day. The building on the right hand side is the lifeboat station.

This high quality giclee print is mounted (mount size 400 x 400 mm) and will fit a standard readymade frame.

Shirley Netherton

I am a Cornish artist who has spent many years developing my unique style of painting with acrylics so that today my work is instantly recognisable. I feel lucky that the hobbies which I enjoy in my free time contribute towards my intense enthusiasm for painting. The photographs I take whilst walking and kayaking become the reference material for my work. I am so fortunate to live in such a beautiful county, surrounded by the sea with so many inland waterways - truly inspirational.
