The Boating Lake Helston

Helston is perhaps most famous for the ‘Furry’ or Floral Dance which is held on 8th May each year. On Flora day thousands of visitors come to watch the local people dance their way through the streets and listen to the Helston Town Band.

A short walk from the centre of Helston is Coronation Park with its huge boating lake. This is a view of the lake with its small island where you can usually find a swan’s nest during the spring. Rowing boats are for hire and on this particularly day there were 2 boats moored alongside the edge of the lake. A swan was wandering around – perhaps looking to be fed! In the distance, a pair of swans glides through the water perfectly synchronised with each other.

This high quality giclee print is mounted and will fit a standard readymade 16″ x 20″ frame

I am a Cornish artist who has spent many years developing my unique style of painting with acrylics so that today my work is instantly recognisable. I feel lucky that the hobbies which I enjoy in my free time contribute towards my intense enthusiasm for painting. The photographs I take whilst walking and kayaking become the reference material for my work. I am so fortunate to live in such a beautiful county, surrounded by the sea with so many inland waterways - truly inspirational.
