The River in my Garden

£360.00

A large abstract oil painting inspired by the lush greenery seen on a recent walk near Forty Hall in North London. The painting was built over many layers of paint which were applied with a palette knife. Lovely fresh yellow, a hint of green, cream and blue combine to a soothing scenery. The painting would be a focal point in any environment, at home or in the office.

The canvas is painted around the edges in white. Hooks and picture hanging cord have been applied, the painting is ready for hanging. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity signed at the back.

I am curious by nature, always ready to further explore new ideas and impressions.  Much of my earlier range of work is concerned with memories and dreams peeling away at them layer by layer. Recent works are abstract representations of landscapes finding inspiration in the beauty of the outside world: gentle landscapes in the UK, the Arctic Circle, the warm and fiery tones of Mediterranean countryside, dramatic skyscapes and the movement of the sea.   The landscapes are inspired not only by the visual markers of a landscape but also by the emotional impact they leave on the spectator. I aim to lend as much ‘feel’ to my paintings as possible, ‘controlling’ the painting as much as possible while also allowing for more spontaneity and risk by applying paint in a variety of ways: smudging, scraping, flicking, squeezing and rubbing paint onto the canvas, scratching paint off and re-starting the process. The process thus mirrors the natural eroding process that happens in the development of landscapes. My work has been sold to art collectors internationally with many returning customers. My work is regularly exhibited at local galleries and art fairs in London.
