This painting is of a view which you may find in the Scottish Highlands or perhaps even the Lake District. In the foreground are gorgeous purple thistles which are set against the stunning blue water of a lake or loch. Through the dark trees you can glimpse the cluster of houses which nestle at the bottom of the hills/mountains.
