I grew up In Sheffield and although I seem to keep moving away, I always come back. I went to college here and I studied Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University. Even after graduating I was still unfocussed. I started working in an art gallery nearby and that is what helped me find my feet as an artist. Watching how these people made their work, how they worked, what inspired them, it made me really look at my practice and to examine what I wanted to say with my work.
The female form has always inspired me. How someone can be delicate and strong at the same time. I found that with my paintings I could really explore who someone was and who they are to me.
