Andy Calladine

Born 1n 1957, I have lived in the industrial heart of Nottinghamshire all my life and this gave me my early inspiration to paint life in the mining villages with rows of Terraced houses, Headstocks & Workshops,Dirty faces of the miners having their first ciggy after a hard shift underground. The area is also rich in farming so I could get away from the dirt and noise to set up my eisel in a quiet field to capture some greenery. Art has always been important to me since receiving a childs tin of paints with a picture of Noddy & Big Ears on the front.I learned the basic rules of painting at school but I am mainly self taught. Painting had to be put on the back burner after leaving school as I had to find work instead of further education. I started to paint more in the late 90’s with friends and family wanting portraits of children and animals.Today I will paint anything and although my passion is for Impressionistic/Realistic painting it can be a refreshing change to escape into an abstract.or contemporary work. Nothing is out of bounds including any media, any surface, any subject and any colour scheme. I hope you like my work, but if it’s not your style thankyou for viewing it and good luck in finding what you are looking for.
