Artywood by Dianna Lee

Artywood is the name given by Dianna Lee for her unique painting skills onto oak panels. She is known locally for this style of painting, a modern concept using the beauty of the wood grain to enhance the picture. Painting art onto wood panels was a tradition popularly used by artists until the 16th century. Now a days this has been re-visited as an alternative to canvas painting. Dianna takes this tradition to a new dimension using the natural beauty of oak for the ‘lay of the land’ in landscapes, ‘water ripples’ for swans and other water fowl on water, ‘back drops’ in floral paintings and other effects. Each panel is edged in plain oak. The original painting can be hung with the oak edging or with an additional frame. Dianna is also known for her stunning hand painted furniture, mainly garden tables, in florals and peacock feather designs. Other original artwork Dianna Lee takes on are commissional murals for all ages in homes and businesses both internal and external. Some of her work has been appointed by national builders. In addition to murals, Dianna works on commissioned art onto canvas in both oils and acrylics. She has also worked closely with many local companies for logos, literature and promotional Illustrations.   Dianna’s background after graduating in art and design in 1990 concentrated on illustrations and fashion design for high street stores plus working closely with copyrights such as Disney and Warner Brothers. Dianna currently works with support groups and private businesses teaching art for all abilities helping people to open up their inner creativity.
