Claudia Marchese

As an artist from Sicily, growing up in the city of Palermo gave me fantastic exposure to incredible historical culture, and a genuine appreciation for the world of art. I decided to study restoration and art at the Benedictine Abbey of San Martino delle Scale, Italy, where I picked up a range of techniques from subjects including drawing, modelling, pictorial techniques, and restoration of ancient handcrafts and materials. Toward the end of my studies, I took that focus a step further, becoming a volunteer on a project to restore ancient mosaics dating back to 400 B.C. at the archaeological site in Solunto, Italy. Having graduated from university with a high class honours degree, I set myself the goal of coming to London to learn the English language and build a career for myself in art. Through the influence of my experiences and the wonderful culture of my upbringing, I have developed a genuine passion and unique style for painting.
