I am a Scottish artist based in Fife. Mainly self-taught, I have always found a way to use my creative skills, from designing and sculpting moulds for the chocolate industry to making salt dough figures for family and friends. I create paintings with torn papers which I paint with acrylics and inks using various mark making techniques. I hand tear the papers into shape and I very rarely use scissors as this leaves a hard edge which I find makes my work too rigid. Along with my painted papers you will sometimes find found papers in my work such as text or images that refer to the subject I am creating. My love for animals and the great outdoors are often reflected in my work along with bright, vibrant colours that convey the positive side of life and sometimes injected with a little humour. I have two approaches to my work; one is a painterly technique when creating animals and landscapes and the other is a naive form when creating harbour and town scenes. My work is ideal if you are looking for an artwork that offers something unusual and appealing to the eye. Thank you for viewing my work.
