Frances Francis

I was born in Birmingham & have also lived in Alrewas Staffordshre, Walton on Trent S Derbyshire & currently reside in Higher Poynton in Cheshire.I have always loved Art, particularly the work of the Impressionists .As a mature student I took a Foundation course at Rolleston-on-Dove Art College. which led me to studying Multi- Media Textile Design at Loughborough University . Whilst there I attained a B.A.Hons.Degree and had work exhibited at the Mall Gallery London. I was offered an interview for the St Martins School of Art to do an M.A Degree. A dramatic change in my Family Life & commitments made it impractical for me to do further study in London at this time . I proceeded to then make prototype artistic structures which I then developed into bags. These could be classed as Works of Art or used as Special Occasional Accessories. My personal circumstances required me to move with my Partner and Granddaughter to the North West and help in the running of the family business. In recent years I have been studying Oil painting and Pastels with Professional Artists such as Les Darlow, John Mills & Anthony Goldthorpe . I am now in a position to further my Art career on a Professional Full Time Basis. I returned to Producing Bags and if these are Successfully Marketed ,this will enable me to Develop other ideas I have in the Pipeline . My work is inspired by Nature’s Organic Shapes to which I like to add my own Unexpected Twist. I tend to use plated/ enameled wire (various materials including silver, copper, & gold) embellished with beads and crystals from all around the World.
