Howard Cooper

Howard Cooper MA After 6 years of art and design study at Loughborough, Brighton and Manchester culminating in a masters degree, I worked as a designer in architectural practices for 10 years. The balance of my career has been in full time degree level art and design education in Manchester. I have continued to draw and paint intermittently during this time, recording a wide range of contexts. The subject matter of my work normally relates to space and structure as I have always been interested in built form in the context of natural elements. I mostly work in-situ and normally only use photographs as a secondary reference source. I have exhibited and sold work through local galleries, and have also had three solo exhibitions, one at Salford City Gallery, and two at Ashton-u-Lyne Library and Art Gallery. The most recent was ‘Past Imperfect’ at Ashton Feb-May in 2008.
