Jan Thompson

Living in Wales and having travelled and lived abroad, artist Jan Thompson’s contemporary original palette is inspired by her visions and experiences of past and present. Eternally observing the natural and man made environment leads to an original infusion of colour, texture and emotion within her highly original and impressive paintings. She studied Art and Design at the University of Wales in Caerleon, gaining a B.Ed with first class honours culminating in a successful fourth year exhibition.  This platform springboarded Jan to inspire children in schools and to be requested to complete private contemporary and abstract commissions. Growing interest in her work, and always having a desire to paint finally led to Jan opening her own studio in 2006 after years of painting everywhere possible around the house! Since then she has exhibited at many venues around the country and overseas. Jan is always  observing and learning in an effort to move forwards with her work and takes particular inspiration from her beautiful surroundings in the Marches.
