Keith Menear is a potter specialising in individual contemporary stoneware and raku pottery. Keith has spent his professional career as a Chemist in the pharmaceutical sector. Twenty years ago he was introduced to pottery by his wife, since then his hobby has become a full time preoccupation. His interests lie particularly with glaze chemistry on stoneware and raku clay bodies. His dual interests in science and art have informed the work and provided inspiration for much of his pieces.
All of his work is hand crafted, normally wheel thrown and the glazes are developed in the studio to give each piece its unique character.
Keith is an associate member of the Craft Potters Association, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a member of the Southern Ceramic Group.
