Roy Newby

Roy Newby (1912 – 2011) was a commercial artist and painter throughout most of the twentieth century. He published his first work at the age of 15 in the 1920’s and went on making pictures until he was in his 80’s. His last exhibition, in 2011, was part of the Vintage Festival at the Royal Festival Hall. He made his living drawing for comics and magazines for children and young people but his real love was for painting. Now, some of his best works are for sale – originals and prints.
